 So Linus Williams (Blord) has been released from Kuje prison after fulfilling his bail conditions, finally, freedom after a few weeks in custody. However, here’s the current position of his case:  He is still expected to show up and stand his trial.  If he fails to appear in court even for one day, his bail can be revoked and a bench warrant may be issued against him, meaning a return to Kuje. If the prosecution cannot prove the charges against him, he will be discharged and acquitted. If the prosecution proves the charges, he may be sentenced and sent back to Kuje. I think he should seek a peaceful resolution to the case. Congrats to him on his freedom for now.

 Lagos 2027: Youth group affirms Seyi Tinubu’s right to contest


The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), a prominent umbrella organisation representing youth groups across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, on Sunday, emphatically stated that it is not a crime for Chief Seyi Tinubu to be elected as Governor of Lagos State in 2027.


CONYL also stated that Seyi Tinubu, like every Nigerian citizen, has a constitutionally guaranteed right to vote and be voted for.


The President General of CONYL, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, in a statement, said that Seyi Tinubu’s eligibility to contest elections should not be called into question solely because his father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, previously served as Governor of Lagos State.


The coalition urged supporters of democracy and good governance to rally behind Seyi Tinubu, who they believe has the vision and capacity to elevate Lagos State to greater heights.


He said: “The call by Nigerian youths for him to contest for the office of Governor of Lagos State in 2027 is a divine call and a responsibility on his shoulders that he cannot shy away from. It is a call to duty which he is mandated to answer.


“Pastors and General Overseers of churches and ministries, upon retirement, hand over their church or ministry to their son or children. So, it beats our imagination that some people are of the opinion that an ebullient, articulate, and very intelligent young man like Chief Seyi Tinubu should be denied an opportunity to be Governor of Lagos State, even when he has shown undeniable capacity to lead.


“We call on all lovers of democracy to rally around Chief Seyi Tinubu, who is very prepared, equipped, and ready to take Lagos State to an enviable height in 2027.


“We call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who we know is a man that believes in democracy and has always listened to the yearnings of Nigerians, to please heed the call by Nigerians and Lagosians by giving his blessing for Chief Seyi Tinubu to contest for the office of Governor of Lagos State in 2027.”
