Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  "Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen Hospitalized After Horseback Riding Incident"


Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen was hospitalized on Sunday after being thrown from a horse while riding with family. The incident occurred with a new horse, and although Pillen sustained injuries, his office did not provide specific details. He was initially taken to Columbus Community Hospital before being transferred to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha as a precautionary measure. Despite the injuries, the Governor is alert and in regular communication with his team, and his office indicated that he is expected to remain in the hospital for several days.


Governor Pillen's family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from Nebraskans, especially as they prepare for the holiday season. In a statement, his office thanked well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers, wishing all Nebraskans a Merry Christmas. The Governor's condition is being closely monitored, and further updates will be provided as necessary.
