 El-Rufai to remain in custody as court adjourns bail application to April 14 Justice Rilwanu Aikawa of a Federal High Court in Kaduna has adjourned the hearing of the bail application filed by former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, to April 14th. The bail application of the former governor came up before the court today. April 1. The court adjourned the case after listening to arguments from both the defence and prosecution  El-Rufai was arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on a 10-count charge bordering on alleged conversion of public property and money laundering. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The court ordered that he remain in ICPC custody pending the hearing of his bail application on the fixed date. The former governor arrived at the court premises around 9:00 a.m. in a black Hilux vehicle, accompanied by DSS officials.

 Trump picks daughter Tiffany's father-in-law Massad Boulos as senior Mideast adviser


It was the second straight day Trump picked a family member for his team.


President-elect Donald Trump has opted to keep it in the family again with some of his latest administrative picks-- this time, with the senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.


Trump has appointed Lebanon billionaire Massad Boulos to take on the role. His son, Michael, is married to Tiffany Trump, the president’s youngest daughter. 

“Massad is an accomplished lawyer and a highly respected leader in the business world, with extensive experience on the International scene,“ Trump wrote on his Truth Social account. ”He has been a longtime proponent of Republican and Conservative values, an asset to my Campaign, and was instrumental in building tremendous new coalitions with the Arab American Community."

He also called Boulos an “unwavering supporter of PEACE in the Middle East.” 

Trump’s youngest daughter married Boulos' son, Michael, in 2022, with the president-elect even walking her down the aisle. The couple is expecting their first child together.

Trump has also named Charles Kushner as the U.S. ambassador to France. Charles Kushner is the father of Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, who is married to Ivanka Trump. Trump had pardoned Charles Kushner in 2020 after he was convicted on federal charges.

In the role as senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs, Boulos may play a big part in the war Gaza, with the United States offering support to Israel under Biden’s administration.

Boulos leads SCOA Nigeria, an automotive company.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
