 Rema Becomes First African Artist on Rolling Stone Cover Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made history as the first African artist to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The American publication, renowned for its coverage of music, politics, and pop culture, announced Rema as the cover star for its April 2025 edition. Mavin Records celebrated the achievement on Instagram, calling him the “Afrobeats Visionary.” Following the announcement, Rema delivered an electrifying performance at the Rolling Stone concert, thrilling audiences with hits like Dumebi, Woman, and Calm Down. This milestone further solidifies Rema’s influence in global music, coming shortly after his feature on Dazed magazine.  Los Angeles fires: Trump accuses California leaders of incompetence.


The incoming President of the United States, Donald Trump, on Sunday accused California officials of incompetence over their handling of deadly wildfires raging across Los Angeles.


In a post on on his Truth Social platform, Trump said incompetent politicians have no idea how to put out the raging fires.


“This is one of the worst catastrophes in the history of our Country. They just can’t put out the fires. What’s wrong with them?” he asked.


According to Trump, the speed and intensity of the blazes ravaging Los Angeles have tested firefighting infrastructure and given rise to questions and criticism about the state’s preparedness.


It was gathered that hydrants ran dry in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood as it was ravaged by one of the region’s five separate fires, while water shortages additionally hampered efforts elsewhere.


With just over a week before he returns to the White House, Trump has launched a series of evidence-free broadsides, accusing California’s Democratic Governor, Gavin Newsom, of failings in response to the blazes.


Meanwhile, Newsom has invited Trump to visit Los Angeles and survey the devastation with him.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
