 Marwa seeks more NASS support, defends N67.5B 2025 NDLEA budget . Senate, House committees commend Agency’s performance, assure of adequate support Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) has expressed appreciation to the National Assembly especially the Senate and House Committees on Narcotic Drugs for their commitment to the nation’s fight against substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking while he appealed for their continued support to enhance the capacity and capability of the Agency to deliver on its mandate.  Police Arrest Officer for Shooting Former Bauchi LG Chairman


The Nigeria Police Force Zone 12 Command has confirmed the arrest of a police officer accused of shooting and injuring Alhaji Danlami Alhassan, a former Chairman of Ningi Local Government Area in Bauchi State.


Zone 12 Police Public Relations Officer, Thomas Goni, stated that the officer involved has been identified and is in custody, assuring the public of a thorough and impartial investigation.


“The officer will face disciplinary action according to Force guidelines. We are addressing this matter with the seriousness it deserves,” Goni said, adding that the incident has raised community concerns and prompted a review of police training and protocols to prevent future occurrences.


Recounting the incident, Alhassan explained that it happened on Sunday at about 9:30 p.m. near the Wunti Market in Bauchi. The officer’s identity was uncovered after a bag containing his police ID card, teargas canisters, and other equipment fell from his motorcycle.


Alhassan, who sustained injuries, was treated at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital and later discharged. He said he was on his way to purchase suya (roasted meat) when the shooting occurred.
