 VP SHETTIMA TO LAUNCH FIRST UNIVERSITY PODS IN AFRICA Vice President Kashim Shettima will flag off the first University Innovation Pods in Africa at the University of Lagos on Tuesday April, 7th 2026  An initiative of the United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the Federal Government aims to reconfigure Nigeria’s development architecture to transform universities into engines of innovation and enterprise creation, among other objectives. Deputy Chief of Staff to the President Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia in a press conference at the Presidential Villa says the UNIPOD initiative underscores the Federal Government's commitment to repositioning Nigerian universities as drivers of economic growth, innovation, and enterprise development, addressing the disconnect between formal education and labour market outcomes. S. A: A DEVASTATING NIGHT ON EASTERN CAPE ROADS HAS CLAIMED THE LIVES OF 10 PEOPLE. (PHOTOS).

 ICYMI: A devastating night on Eastern Cape roads has claimed the lives of 10 people 


The most tragic incident happened on the N2 near Phakade, between eMaXesibeni and Kokstad, where a head-on collision between a bakkie and a truck resulted in eight fatalities on Friday, January 10. 


The bakkie was carrying 12 people, and the accident claimed the lives of five people at the scene, while three others died en route to the hospital. The bakkie driver was among the deceased, while the truck driver escaped unharmed.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
