 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  Kenyan MP charged with forging university certificates


A Kenyan lawmaker has been charged with forging university certificates, according to the public prosecutor.


George Koimburi, was charged on Wednesday with three counts of forging academic certificates and three more for uttering false documents.


Koimburi is a member of parliament representing Juja constituency that is located in the outskirts of the capital, Nairobi. He denied that charges and was released on a cash bail.


The prosecution said the lawmaker allegedly forged his high school certificate and two certificates of participation for courses he took at a university located in his constituency.


Kenyan law stipulates that candidates for parliamentary seats must be high school leavers.


Cases against Kenyan lawmakers accused of forging academic certificates are common, although they are rarely prosecuted successfully.
