 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. ABIA STATE TO REBUILD ARIARIA POLICE STATION, DESTROYED DURING END SARS PROTEST. (PHOTO).


 


The Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Abia State, Iheanyi Igboanulam, has announced that resources are being mobilized to rebuild the Ariaria Police Station, which was destroyed during the End SARS protest. Igboanulam made this known during the monthly security meeting of the PCRC Abia State, held at the Police Officers Mess in Umuahia.


In addition to rebuilding the Ariaria Police Station, Igboanulam revealed that community consultations have commenced to revive the Umuopara Police Division. He expressed gratitude to PCRC members for their support, emphasizing that collective efforts are crucial for achieving success. "Nothing will be achieved without your individual and collective support," Igboanulam said.


The PCRC Chairman also urged members to prepare for the forthcoming 41st anniversary of the committee. Furthermore, he announced that the PCRC has been formally registered as a cooperative society, enabling divisions to access grants and benefits from the government and donor agencies.


Chairman Emeritus Ambassador Emma Nwosu and Patron of PCRC Abayi Division Ambassador Ngozi Ukaegbu commended the state leadership of PCRC for their outstanding work and pledged continued support to elevate the committee. The monthly security meeting featured security reports from Eziama, Central Police Station Umuahia, and Isuikwuato Divisions.
