Assumption of Duty by CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, psc(+), mni, as the 46th Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command


The Bauchi State Police Command is pleased to announce the assumption of duty by Commissioner of Police (CP) Sani-Omolori Aliyu, psc(+), mni, as the 46th Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command. CP Aliyu officially took over leadership of the Command on Friday, 28th March 2025, succeeding AIG Auwal Musa Muhammad, psc, Anipr, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and reassigned to Zone 3, Yola.


Upon assuming office, CP Aliyu expressed profound gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for the trust and confidence placed in him. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to serving with professionalism, dedication, and a results-driven approach to ensuring the security and safety of Bauchi State.


Profile of CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu 


Born on 13th February 1969 in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu is a seasoned law enforcement officer with over three decades of distinguished service in the Nigeria Police Force. He was enlisted as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on 10th June 1994 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts.


Professional Experience


CP Aliyu has held several strategic positions across various state and zonal commands, demonstrating his depth of experience in law enforcement. His previous assignments include:


Katsina State Command: Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) in Kankia and Daura, Officer in Charge of the Quick Intervention Unit (Department of Operations – SHQ), and Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Sandamu.

 Staff Officer Junior (SOJ).


Edo State Command: Staff Officer Senior (SOS).


Kaduna State Command: Divisional Police Officer in Gwantu, Zonkwa and Kauru.


Nasarawa State Command: Divisional Police Officer New karshi


Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command: Divisional Police Officer in Kuje, Utako, and Old Karshi FCT


Bauchi State Command: Area Commander, Bauchi Metropolis.


FCT Command: Area Commander, Kubwa.


Zone 7  Abuja: Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration & Finance).


Gombe State Command: Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).


Professional Training & Development


CP Aliyu Sani-Omolori has made significant contributions to police training and development. Between 2007 and 2011, he served as a Directing Staff/Trainer at the Central Planning and Training Unit (CPTU) of the Police Staff College, Jos.

Senior Executive Course 46/2024 at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, where he was conferred with the prestigious Member of the National Institute (mni).


Personal Life 


CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu is a devoted family man. He is happily married with children. In addition to his professional commitments, he enjoys playing Scrabble and Tennis.

As he assumes leadership of the Bauchi State Command, CP Aliyu is committed to strengthening security, fostering community engagement, and enhancing law enforcement strategies to ensure the safety of all residents.
