 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. FIRE ENGULFS PARTS OF ONITSHA MAIN MARKET IN ANAMBRA STATE. (PHOTO).

A devastating fire outbreak has ravaged parts of the Onitsha Main Market in Anambra State, Nigeria. The blaze, which began at approximately 6:20 am on Friday, quickly spread to adjacent buildings, causing widespread damage.


Eyewitnesses report that residents, passersby, and firefighters are working tirelessly to salvage properties and goods from the affected buildings. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.


Chukwudi Chiketa, Head of the Media and Publicity Unit of the Anambra State Fire Service, confirmed the incident and urged the public to remain calm. "Anambra State Fire Service is currently on intervention at the scene of the fire outbreak at Ifejika Street, by Sokoto Road, Onitsha," Chiketa stated.


Firefighters responded promptly to the distress call, which came in at 6:20 am. Chiketa assured the public that the situation is under control and that firefighters are working to quench the flames.
