 A Limpopo man who stabbed his girlfriend to death in front of his own mother will spend the next 20 years in prison. The Polokwane High Court sentenced 48 year old Nathaniel Molatelo Mokgehle from Sekonye Village in the Botlokwa policing area for the murder of his girlfriend, 41 year old Mokgadi Julia Mohlaela. The court heard he chased her out of the house and continued stabbing her until she collapsed and died. Mokgehle also received six months for malicious damage to property. The sentence will run at the same time as the 20 year murder sentence. Evidence presented in court showed the victim had previously opened a malicious damage to property case against him. He was still attending court for that case when the murder happened. The attack happened on 08 June 2025 around 16:00 at his mother’s home in Sekonye Village.  Ladoja storms Makinde’s private residence after Eid-el-Fitri prayers


In what seem a good turn of event in the State, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja on Sunday visited the Ikolaba private residence of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The former Governor, who was earlier at the Agodi Eid Prayer Ground, arrived the residence in company of the Senator representing Oyo South, Sharafadeen Alli and other aides.

Ladoja, whose presence at the residence was greeted by mixed reactions, as many looked in admiration and joy.

Dressed in white with the Olubadan staff of office behind him, Oba Ladoja was received was led in by the Director General (DG) Protocol to the Governor, Otunba Gboyega Badejo as the Personal Assistant to the Governor, Alhaji Akeem Azeez.

The joy and excitement that trail the arrival of the former governor was almost truncated when security operatives who manned the door from inside, unaware of the arrival of Oba Ladoja could not be reached to open the door for the monarch to gain entrance.

Security operatives at the door had shut the entrance door due to the large number of unexpected individuals trying to gain access into the parlour of the large expanse building where the Deputy Governor and other dignitaries who represented the state at the Eid-el-Fitri Prayer Ground, Agodi were seated.

The encouraged had moved from the Prayer ground to pay a visit on the Governor, to felicitates and offer prayers in the occasion of the Eid, a practice that has been established for years by the administration

While the monarch waited, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju and other aides at the scene were seen appealing to the former Governor as efforts was put to alert the security operative manning the door from the inside to open the door.

After waiting a while, the door was opened and Alhaji Akeem Azeem and Otunba Badejo were on hand to lead the former Governor and his entourage into the parlour of Governor where the Deputy Governor and other dignitaries were seated.

The visit is still ongoing as of the time of filing this report.
