 Press Release Basic Healthcare Provision Fund: FG Set to Release 32BN For Expansion of Primary Heathcare Services -expand affordability, emergency medical treatment, emergency ambulance and health security The Federal Government through the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund BHCPF is set to release N32bn through the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund to the state, local governments and more than 8,000 primary healthcare centres. Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate Coordinating Minister for Health & Social Welfare announced this during a press briefing  at the 10th Ministerial Oversight Committee meeting of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund held Wednesday 19 March, 2025.  Tinubu saved Fubara from impeachment – Obidike


Suspended Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara should be grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for saving him from impeachment, and All Progressives Chieftain, Hon Obidike Chukwuebuka, has stated. 

He said Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State saved Fubara from the shame.

Reacting to the development on Wednesday, Obidike said: “While details of the alleged impeachment threat are scarce, President Tinubu’s involvement has significantly shaped Rivers State’s political landscape. 

“His commitment to promoting peace and stability was evident in a recent meeting with Governor Fubara and stakeholders, emphasizing unity and cooperation.

“As the situation unfolds, Governor Fubara’s fate remains closely tied to President Tinubu’s influence, with potential far-reaching implications for the state’s politics.”

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
