 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  632 Suspects Arrested in Limpopo During Operation Shanela (Kukula)


Police in Limpopo arrested 632 suspects during Operation Shanela (Kukula), held from 14 to 20 April 2025. The operation aimed to keep communities safe during the Easter holidays.


Different law enforcement units, including SAPS, SANDF, Home Affairs, and traffic officers, took part.


During the operation: 34 illegal liquor outlets were closed, 23 roadblocks were held, 570 premises and 265 farms were searched, 213 second-hand shops were inspected and 2 firearms were recovered.


Arrests included:


188 illegal immigrants, 37 for drunk driving, 4 for illegal firearms, 2 for murder, 4 for rape, 30 for illegal liquor sales, 3 for drug dealing and 15 for dangerous weapons

72 for assault GBH.


The suspects are already appearing in courts across the province.
