Blaming opposition for hunger is ‘delusion’, Atiku tells Tinubu Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of blaming the opposition for the country’s economic hardship. He said the President was trying to evade responsibility for his administration’s policies. Tinubu had earlier on Saturday blamed his political opponents for hunger and poverty in the country while speaking at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna. “I hear my opponent talking about hunger, poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” the President said. ATBU Bauchi Dismisses Lecturer Over Sexual Harassment


The Governing Council of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi State has dismissed one Dr Usman Aliyu from the service of the institution.


Zailani Bappa, Director, Information and Public Relations of the institution, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Bauchi on Thursday. 


According to him, the approval of the dismissal of the lecturer was made during the 96th regular meeting of the institution held on April 11, 2025, after he was found guilty of having sexually harassed a married female post-graduate student of the institution.


He said that the student is from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technology of the institution.


“Yes, it’s true, and that was because the lecturer was confirmed guilty of the offense by the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee of the institution.


“The dismissal was in accordance with the chapter 3, item f, i, (o) of the Senior Staff Conditions of Service of the University.


“The Council has subsequently approved his dismissal from the service of the University with immediate effect.


“In view of this, he has been directed to hand over all the property of the university in his possession to his Head of Department and identification card to the Chief Security Officer of the University”, Mr Bappa said. (NAN)
