EL-RUFAI TO REMAIN IN CUSTODY AS COURT ADJOURNS BAIL APPLICATION TO APRIL 14.(PHOTO).

 El-Rufai to remain in custody as court adjourns bail application to April 14 Justice Rilwanu Aikawa of a Federal High Court in Kaduna has adjourned the hearing of the bail application filed by former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, to April 14th. The bail application of the former governor came up before the court today. April 1. The court adjourned the case after listening to arguments from both the defence and prosecution  El-Rufai was arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on a 10-count charge bordering on alleged conversion of public property and money laundering. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The court ordered that he remain in ICPC custody pending the hearing of his bail application on the fixed date. The former governor arrived at the court premises around 9:00 a.m. in a black Hilux vehicle, accompanied by DSS officials.

 Idemili North Mayor visits, sympathises with family of suspected food poisoning

The Idemili North Mayor, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka has visited the family of the suspected food poisoning at Ogidi.


Sympathising with the father of the victims, Mr Arinze Aghalu.the Mayor assured him of every support and promising to unravel the mystery behind the incident. 


The traumatized father of the family, Mr. Aghalu lost almost an entire family which included his four children and a brother to the alleged food poisoning while his wife is lieing unconscious and on a life support in one of the hospitals in the area.


Mayor Nkwoka, who  was visibly broken down at the sight and reality of the incident assured the bereaved that whatever led to the act must be looked into and publicized to forestall future occurrence.


He also visited the hospital where the victim's wife, Mrs. Aghalu was receiving the treatment.


The mayor pleaded with the hospital management to do everything within its ability to stabilize the woman for the sake of her husband and their only survived child. He however promised to take care of all the hospital bills.


Five out of six members of the Aghalu family at Ogidi were reported to have died of food poisoning after a rice meal.


Only their father, Mr. Aghalu was not affected for he had opted for a different food alongside his daughter who wasn't around.
