 Somali World Cup Referee Denied Entry to United States Award-winning Somali referee, Omar Artan, has been denied entry into the United States despite holding a valid visa, according to a senior official in Somalia’s sports ministry. Artan, who is set to become the first Somali referee to officiate at the FIFA World Cup finals, was stopped at Miami International Airport and subsequently returned to Istanbul, where he had been residing. The reason for the denial was not immediately disclosed. However, Somalia is among the countries affected by a travel ban introduced by the administration of Donald Trump.  Limpopo radio DJ arrested for allegedly raping a minor relative


A 34-year-old prominent radio personality from the Vhembe District, Limpopo, has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 06-year-old relative at her residence in Mpheni Block B.


The suspect, who works as a DJ at a radio station based in Thohoyandou, was apprehended on Monday following a thorough investigation by Waterval SAPS detectives.


He made his initial appearance before the Waterval Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, where proceedings were postponed to 27 May 2025 for a formal bail application.


Police reports indicate that the incident allegedly occurred on 12 May 2025 at approximately 15:30. The girl's mother, who was in Pretoria at the time, was notified by the child's grandmother that the minor was unwell.


Upon returning home immediately, she learned that the child had already been taken to the hospital, where medical examination confirmed sexual assault.


During subsequent interviews, the child disclosed that the suspect had shown inappropriate material before committing the alleged assault.
