 ANAMBRA SHMB WARNS HEALTH INFORMATION OFFICERS OVER LATE REPORTS, REITERATES 7TH-DAY DEADLINE By Ebele Egoh The Anambra State Hospital Management Board (SHMB) has urged Health Information Management Officers to ensure accurate medical records, timely data submission and strict protection of patients’ confidential information to strengthen healthcare delivery across the state. The Director of Medical Support Services of the Board, Mrs Nneka Uzor, gave the call during a meeting and training session for health information personnel held on Oct. 9 at the SHMB conference hall. Mrs Uzor stressed that maintaining complete medical records and safeguarding patients’ information are essential professional responsibilities, cautioning  the officers against disclosing sensitive health information to unauthorised persons and urged them to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.  Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Injury


Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi was rushed to hospital for emergency abdominal surgery on Monday following an injury sustained during the team’s 2-2 Premier League draw against Leicester City at the City Ground on Sunday.


The Nigerian international collided with a goalpost while attempting to convert a cross from teammate Anthony Elanga. Despite receiving several minutes of on-field treatment and attempting to continue, the full extent of the injury was not apparent until Forest’s medical staff conducted further assessments on Monday. The club confirmed that Awoniyi was immediately taken for surgery, which is not believed to be life-threatening.


In a statement posted on their X account, Nottingham Forest said, “The Club can confirm Taiwo Awoniyi has undergone urgent surgery following an abdominal injury sustained during Sunday’s match against Leicester City. Everyone at Nottingham Forest sends their best wishes to Taiwo. The Club will provide further updates when appropriate.”
