Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. ISRAEL CARRIED OUT AIRSTRIKES ON IRAN IN THE EARLY HOURS OF FRIDAY, JUNE 13. LOUD. (PHOTOS).

In a dramatic escalation of Middle East tensions, Israel carried out airstrikes on Iran in the early hours of Friday, June 13. Loud explosions were reported across Tehran as Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion,” targeting dozens of Iranian military and nuclear-related sites. According to Israeli officials, the strikes aimed to stop Iran’s nuclear programme, which they say has been advancing dangerously.

One of the biggest blows came with the reported death of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Commander, Hossein Salami. Iranian state media confirmed his death, along with the deaths of other senior leaders, including another top Guard official and two nuclear scientists. The Israeli military claimed it struck at the core of Iran’s nuclear efforts, calling the attack a necessary step after years of failed diplomacy.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the operation would continue “for as many days as it takes.” Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that a special state of emergency had been declared across Israel, and schools would remain closed on Friday. Authorities are preparing for possible retaliation from Iran or its allies in the region.

The attack follows increasing global concern over Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Recently, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) censured Iran for not cooperating with inspections — the first such move in 20 years. Meanwhile, the U.S. has started pulling diplomats from Iraq and advised caution for American personnel in the Middle East, fearing wider conflict.
