 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Nollywood Actor Odira Nwobu Survives Deadly Crash in Lagos, Others Feared Dead


Nollywood actor Odira Nwobu narrowly escaped death in a tragic auto crash along the Lagos Expressway in the early hours of Thursday, June 26, 2025. Eyewitnesses reported that Nwobu was the sole survivor, with all other occupants of the vehicle feared dead at the scene. The exact number of casualties and their identities have yet to be officially confirmed.


The cause of the accident remains under investigation, with authorities working to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal crash. Emergency services responded swiftly, evacuating the deceased and clearing the wreckage to alleviate significant traffic congestion caused by the incident.


News of the accident has sent shockwaves through Nollywood, with fans and industry colleagues flooding social media with messages of relief for Nwobu’s survival and condolences for the lives lost. The actor, renowned for his comedic roles in Nollywood films, is currently receiving medical attention.
