 A popular content creator has died from surgery complication     Esther Thomas, popularly known as Sunshine, was a Nigerian content creator, skit maker, and brand influencer. She died on Friday, 9 January 2026, after complications from fibroid surgery. She had been complaining of serious stomach pain from late December 2025.     Sunshine was first admitted at Orchid General Hospital in Lagos, where her friends said she was only given pain relief drugs because doctors were on strike. Her condition did not improve, so she was moved to another hospital on 2 January 2026, where tests showed she had a large fibroid and surgery was carried out. She later developed complications and died. After her death, friends blamed Orchid General Hospital online, saying she was neglected and did not receive proper treatment early enough.  Nollywood Actor Odira Nwobu Survives Deadly Crash in Lagos, Others Feared Dead


Nollywood actor Odira Nwobu narrowly escaped death in a tragic auto crash along the Lagos Expressway in the early hours of Thursday, June 26, 2025. Eyewitnesses reported that Nwobu was the sole survivor, with all other occupants of the vehicle feared dead at the scene. The exact number of casualties and their identities have yet to be officially confirmed.


The cause of the accident remains under investigation, with authorities working to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal crash. Emergency services responded swiftly, evacuating the deceased and clearing the wreckage to alleviate significant traffic congestion caused by the incident.


News of the accident has sent shockwaves through Nollywood, with fans and industry colleagues flooding social media with messages of relief for Nwobu’s survival and condolences for the lives lost. The actor, renowned for his comedic roles in Nollywood films, is currently receiving medical attention.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
