 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  CP OROTUGU COMMENDS THE PEOPLE OF NNEWI SOUTH LGA ON IMPROVED COMMITMENT TOWARDS THE POLICE AND SECURITY AGENCIES FOR SECURITY AND SAFETY OF THE AREA


_Leads patrol to communities in the area to assess goodwill projects on the facelift of the Police facility at Amichi_


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orotugu fwc MNIPS PhD today 15th July 2025 commended the good people of Nnewi South Local Government Area for their renewed show of commitment and support towards the Police and other security agencies operating in the area.


This commendation followed a routine operational patrol led by the *CP*  to communities in the LGA, during which he assessed various community-led goodwill projects aimed at giving a facelift to the Police facility at Amichi.


The *CP* in company of the Area Commander Nnewi, DPO Otolo-Nnewi, DPO Amichi and other senior officers in the convoy also visited the Local Government Chairman of Nnewi South and interacted with very senior stakeholders in the area. 


The *CP* acknowledged the ongoing collaboration and community engagement as a strong pillar for effective policing and sustainable peace. The Command continues to encourage similar partnerships across all Local Government Areas in the State, emphasizing that community involvement remains vital in strengthening the security architecture of Anambra.


The Local Government Chairman Hon. Van George Chinedu Ezeogidi and other dignitaries who spoke during the discussion thanked the *CP* and pledged greater cooperation to improve safety in the area. 


The Anambra State Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens while fostering transparency, responsiveness and mutual trust with the communities that it serves.
