 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.  SUNDAY OLISEH'S BROTHER DIES OF MALARIA FEVER


Former Super Eagles star, Sunday Oliseh, lost his brother to Malaria fever on Thursday.


Oliseh announced the tragedy on X on Sunday, lamenting that he had a lot he could have still done with his sibling.


‘’Sadly I lost my brother, Uche Levi Oliseh on Thursday after a brief illness with Malaria fever," he wrote. "It hurts so bad, like I have never felt before. I have over a million things that I would wanna talk, laugh and do with Uche, but sadly I cannot anymore. Damn, Death is a real bitc.''
