Blaming opposition for hunger is ‘delusion’, Atiku tells Tinubu Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of blaming the opposition for the country’s economic hardship. He said the President was trying to evade responsibility for his administration’s policies. Tinubu had earlier on Saturday blamed his political opponents for hunger and poverty in the country while speaking at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna. “I hear my opponent talking about hunger, poverty. Who created it? They did! They created the hunger, they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” the President said.  TRUMP TO OFFER PUTIN RARE EARTH MINERALS IN ALASKA


US President Donald Trump is allegedly proposing to offer Vladimir Putin rare earth minerals in pursuit of a ceasefire in Ukraine. 


This proposal is ahead of a scheduled meeting between Trump and Putin in Alaska on Friday. The meeting is to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.


Apart from the natural minerals deal, the US may also lift some sanctions on Russia’s aviation industry to make Putin agree to ending the Russian-Ukrainian war.


Trump said that if the meeting goes well, he will schedule another one immediately where himself, Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet. 


“If the first one goes okay, we’ll have a quick second one," Trump said. "I would like to do it almost immediately, and we’ll have a quick second meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky and myself, if they’d like to have me there.”
