 “No electricity, no vote,” South Africans threaten to shun ruling party ANC Residents in Katlehong, a township outside Johannesburg, have resolved to boycott South Africa's upcoming local elections on November 4 due to long-standing failures by authorities to provide basic services like electricity. For over 20 years, around 180 households in the community have relied on illegal electrical connections pulled from neighboring areas to power their homes. Angry over the lack of formal grid infrastructure, residents are directing their frustration at the ruling African National Congress (ANC). "We have made a collective decision: no electricity, no vote," said community leader Lesiba Rankapole, 59. "We know it is illegal, but we had no choice because we cannot live without electricity. Ika of Africa goes global! Portable flaunts new Canadian visa


Nigerian street-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again set social media buzzing after unveiling his new makeover and showering himself with grand titles.

Taking to his Instagram page, the “Zazu Zeh” crooner shared photos of himself clad in a white and green outfit while boldly listing the names he now identifies with.

Portable described himself as “Mr Nigeria, Tony Montana of London, Ika of Africa, Emergency Musician, and Awolumate of America.” He also bragged about securing two separate 10-year Canadian visas, emphasizing that music is his main source of livelihood.

“Call Me Mr Nigeria Agbara God Power, Ika of Africa, Emergency Musician, Tony Montana of London, Awolumate of America. I got 10 10-year Canada visa. I do music for a living. Zazuu Zeh, Canadian,” he wrote.
