 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration.  12 Feared Dead in Kenya Plane Crash


A small plane carrying 12 people crashed in a hilly, forested area of Kenya's coastal Kwale region killing all onboard


The aircraft was headed to the renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve.


The Cessna Caravan-type plane went down about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Diani airstrip, minutes after takeoff, bursting into flames and leaving charred wreckage, authorities reported.


Kwale County Commissioner Stephen Orinde told The Associated Press that all passengers were foreign tourists, with nationalities to be confirmed later. 


The exact breakdown of passengers and crew was not immediately available.


Witnesses described hearing a loud bang before arriving at the scene to find unrecognizable human remains.


The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority confirmed 12 people were aboard and is investigating the cause.


 Mombasa Air Safari, the operator, said it is cooperating with authorities and will provide updates through the aviation body.
