 Guinea-Bissau stops vaccine study funded by Trump administration Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister has said his government has stopped a study funded by the Trump administration aiming to evaluate side effects of the life-saving hepatitis B vaccine, including any links to autism. The West African country, one of the region's poorest, has high rates of hepatitis B, and the prospective study had drawn an outcry from scientists and international health bodies because only half the newborns in the trial would get the vaccine at birth. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said it was not ethical. Guinea-Bissau last month suspended the trial pending an ethical review. Critics had said it was being used to test theories linking vaccines to autism, long promoted by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr but contradicted by scientific evidence.  12 Feared Dead in Kenya Plane Crash


A small plane carrying 12 people crashed in a hilly, forested area of Kenya's coastal Kwale region killing all onboard


The aircraft was headed to the renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve.


The Cessna Caravan-type plane went down about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Diani airstrip, minutes after takeoff, bursting into flames and leaving charred wreckage, authorities reported.


Kwale County Commissioner Stephen Orinde told The Associated Press that all passengers were foreign tourists, with nationalities to be confirmed later. 


The exact breakdown of passengers and crew was not immediately available.


Witnesses described hearing a loud bang before arriving at the scene to find unrecognizable human remains.


The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority confirmed 12 people were aboard and is investigating the cause.


 Mombasa Air Safari, the operator, said it is cooperating with authorities and will provide updates through the aviation body.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
