McDonald’s launches World Cup meal and collectible cups ahead of 2026 FIFA tournament kickoff McDonald’s is launching limited-time World Cup meals and collectibles ahead of the FIFA tournament kickoff on June 11, as excitement builds for the expanded 48-team competition co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada. The fast-food chain, returning as an official tournament sponsor, will roll out its World Cup-themed menu nationwide starting June 4. Customers can choose between a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, both served with a special gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce. As part of the promotion, McDonald’s is also releasing collectible cups featuring nine global soccer stars and cultural icons. The lineup includes Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, Santiago Gimenez, and the brand’s mascot Grimace. 5 arrested in investigation of Robert De Niro’s grandson Leandro’s overdose death

Two years after the death of Robert De Niro’s 19-year-old grandson, Leandro Anthony De Niro-Rodriguez, authorities have arrested five more individuals in connection with the case, law enforcement officials confirmed.

Leandro was found dead on July 2, 2023, from an apparent accidental drug overdose. The suspects, all men, are facing charges of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances resulting in death. A sixth person, Sofia H. Marks, had been arrested shortly after the incident for allegedly selling drugs to Leandro.

DEA New York Special Agent in Charge Frank Tarentino said the arrests are intended to provide some closure for grieving families and highlight the dangers of social media platforms being used to distribute fentanyl-laced counterfeit pills. “Whether you deal on the screens or in our streets, the DEA and our law enforcement partners remain committed to targeting those responsible. This is a fight to save lives,” he stated.

Leandro’s mother, Drena De Niro, expressed her grief publicly after her son’s passing, describing him as her “joy, my heart, and all that was ever pure and real” in her life. Leandro had appeared in the 2018 film A Star Is Born, playing the son of Bradley Cooper’s character’s friend, as well as in Cabaret Maxime. He was 19 years old.
