 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS SUSPECTED CULTIST AND ARMED ROBBER: RECOVERS VEHICLE, FIREARM AND AMMUNITION


Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Special Anti Cultism Squad Enugu Ukwu on the evening of 16th October 2025 while on Aberdeen patrol along Ukpomili–Ifitedunu Road, Dunukofia Local Government Area, intercepted a black-coloured Lexus car with registration number RSH 613 AZ, driven by one Chiemerie Udeh, aged 22 years. Upon a thorough search of the vehicle and the suspect, the operatives recovered one locally made pistol and five rounds of live ammunition.


Given the above discovery, the suspect was immediately arrested and the firearm, ammunition and vehicle were taken into custody as exhibits for further investigation. Meanwhile, Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle may have been stolen and was en route for a planned rivalry cult attack.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc minps PhD commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to sustaining the tempo against cultism and violent crimes across the State.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
