 AU Commission Chairperson Arrives in Bamako to Revive Dialogue With Mali Mahmoud Ali Youssouf arrived for a two-day official visit, according to an AU statement. He was welcomed by Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop and is also expected to meet with President Assimi Goïta, it said, Sputnik reported. The visit comes as Mali remains suspended from AU activities since June 2021. The AU has reaffirmed its support for Mali’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while proposing increased assistance to the security sector.

 New Director General/CEO of NBMA, Bello Bawa Bwari, Assumes Office


The newly appointed Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA),  Bello Bawa Bwari formally assumes duty  at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja. 


 He acknowledged the Agency’s significant progress over the years in ensuring the safe application of modern biotechnology and biosafety practices in Nigeria and pledged to strengthen the mandate, promote innovation, and ensure that Nigeria remains a leader in biosafety management across Africa

Head Information and Public Relations,the new DG also emphasized commitment to deepening stakeholder engagement, enhancing transparency in regulatory processes, and advancing public trust in the Agency’s work.


Bello Bawa Bwari is a seasoned administrator and legal professional with extensive experience in environmental law, public administration, and institutional development was recently appointed by President Tinubu to replace former DG CEO Dr Agnes Yemisi
