 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. Significant Breakthrough in Armed Robbery/Car Snatch , Suspect Arrested.


The Rivers State Police Command has made another remarkable achievement in a swift operation and investigation into the viral video circulating on the social media space, depicting an armed robbery incident at Choba area of Port Harcourt on October 15, 2025. The incident which occurred at about 1500hrs, involved the snatching of a Toyota Avalon car at gunpoint.


Through intelligence-led Policing and technical support, Operatives of the Command has successfully apprehended one of the suspects, identified as Iruo Young M. 'm' aged 42 years, at his hideout in Ikoku, Port Harcourt. 


During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime, providing detailed information about his involvement in the robbery incident.


The suspect is currently in Police custody, and an in-depth investigation has been launched to apprehend the other fleeing suspects, recover the stolen vehicle, and retrieve the firearms used in the commission of the crime.


The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, psc, mnips, has commended the operatives involved in the operation for their diligence and swift response, which led to the suspect's arrest. He has also expressed gratitude to the public for their support and cooperation in sharing credible information that facilitated the arrest. The Commissioner has warned that the State will not provide a hiding place for criminals, emphasizing the Command's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in the State.
