 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Sultan Of Sokoto  Sa'ad Abubakar Urges Muslims To Project Nigeria's Unity


Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Muhammed Sa'ad Abubakar III at the council's Expanded General Purpose Committee Meeting holding in Abuja urged Muslim faithful to

show actions that will sustain and project unity in Nigeria. 


As a religious body,  he reiterated commitment on behalf of other leaders to play a positive role in addressing the current challenges of negative commentaries about the religious status of Nigerians.


He cautioned the  use of social media as a tool for propaganda, propagating personal negative narratives about Nigeria. 


Also at the meeting is the Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris, who says the desire of the current administration is not to build a nation through guns but by saying the truth.


Recent happenigs within the past few days where some people had alleged Nigeria as a country of religious intolerance the Minister said is Fake news that is endangering  democracy.


He unequivocally stated the position of President Bola Tinubu to  preserve the unity and respect the sovereignty of Nigeria assuring that all diplomatic channels activated are working towards building peace and security in Nigeria.
