 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  "The federal government must be careful with the Nnamdi kanu case, because whatever happens, we will not forget- Hon. Obi Aguocha


Hon. Obi Aguocha member representing ikwuano/umuahia North/umuahia South federal comstituency in the national Assembly has called on the President to handle the case of Nnamdi Kanu with utmost carefulness, speaking to the press after mazi Nnamdi kanu case today, he stressed  that the action or inaction of the Federal Government on the matter could have lasting effects on the relationship between the South-East and the central government.


According to him, the South-East region has continued to experience unfavourable treatment, suggesting that there appears to be a "different set of laws applied to the south east." He warned that such perceived injustice and unequal treatment could wipe the goodwill the President currently enjoys in the region.


Hon. Aguocha further stated that the people of the South-East will not forget the events surrounding the handling of the Nnamdi Kanu case, emphasizing that even if the current generation forgives, future generations will remember.


"whatever happens now, Nigeria should know that we will not forget, even though we forget our children and grandchildren will not forget." He said.
