 World Cup to feature mid-half hydration breaks The 2026 World Cup will feature hydration breaks in each half, effectively dividing matches into four quarters, FIFA announced. Referees will pause games 22 minutes into each half for three-minute water breaks, allowing players to rehydrate. Unlike last year’s Club World Cup in the United States, where breaks were limited to extreme heat, these hydration pauses will be mandatory for every match, regardless of venue or weather. The three minutes will be added to stoppage time, but the game clock will continue to run. The tournament, set to run from June 11 to July 14 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will be the first 48-team World Cup. FIFA also plans to hold three opening ceremonies before each host nation plays its first match. The tournament kicks off June 11 in Mexico City with Mexico facing South Africa. ALLERGED SUICIDE AT NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL, YOLA CAMPUS, POLICE BEGIN INVESTIGATION


The Adamawa State Police Command confirms the report of an unfortunate incident involving a 27-year-old student of the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, identified as Ojajuni Ayo, an indigene of Ondo State.


On the 07/12/2025, the Command received a report from the Chief Security Officer of the institution, that on 06/12/2025 at about 11:30 am, a student named Ojajuni Ayomiposi returned to the campus in a tricycle, visibly staggering, and jumped over the fence into the hostel premises. Shortly after, a security guard went to check on him and found him vomiting and lying unconscious.


He was immediately rushed to the nearby Hospital where he was admitted and later confirmed dead while receiving treatment.


The corpse has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy, while investigation is ongoing. 


The Commissioner of Police, *CP Dankombo Morris, PSC(+),* has ordered a discreet and thorough investigation into the incident to uncover the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
