 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS A SUSPECTED MEMBER OF A KIDNAP/ARMED ROBBERY/CAR SNATCHING SYNDICATE LINKED TO A PROSCRIBED SECESSIONIST GROUP


The Anambra State Police Command in continuation of ongoing investigations into a case of conspiracy, kidnapping, armed robbery, and car snatching linked to the activities of a proscribed secessionist group, Police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu arrested another criminal gang member Kalu Okafor ‘M’, aged 43 years, at Okpoko, Ogbaru LGA in the early hours of yesterday 3rd December 2025. During the Operations, the Operatives recovered one (1) AK-47 Rifle, one (1) Pump-Action Gun, Two (2) AK-47 Magazines, Eighty-Eight (88) Rounds of Ammunition, two (2) Face Masks, and two (2) Hand Gloves. 


The feat was recorded following the confession of one of the gang members Chukwudi Nwakpa, who has been in custody, stating how they handed over their firearms to Kalu Okafor for safekeeping after each kidnapping operation. Also, Kalu further admitted that he received returns from the proceeds of ransom collected from kidnapped victims.


The suspect is currently assisting the Police with useful information aimed at arresting other fleeing members of the gang and possibly recovering additional operational weapons.
