 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. ASSUMPTION OF DUTY OF THE NEWLY POSTED POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER (PPRO), BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND

The Bauchi State Police Command wishes to inform the general public, and respected stakeholders, that a new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) has assumed duty at the Command Headquarters, Bauchi.

The newly posted PPRO is Superintendent of Police (SP) Nafiu Habib, a seasoned and versatile police officer with over sixteen (16) years of professional experience in various operational, administrative, and strategic communication roles within the Nigeria Police Force.

SP Nafiu Habib is an alumnus of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), where he earned a Master’s Degree in Conflict and Security Studies, and also holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Criminology and Security Studies from the National Open University of Nigeria. He completed the Cadet Inspector of Police Course 38/2009 at the prestigious Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.

He has served in different capacities across the country, including:
 • Police Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil
 • Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Command
 • Managing Editor, NPA News Bulletin (2021 & 2022)
 • Resource Person and Lecturer for Cadet Officers on misconduct and professional ethics
 • Desk Officer, Public Complaint Bureau
 • Officer in Charge, Research & Planning Department
 • Divisional Traffic Officer, Rigasa & Kakuri Divisions
 • Unit Commander, No. 1 PMF Squadron attached to the Government House, Kaduna
 • Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command
 • Confidential Secretary (Dep't of Operations), Imo State Command

SP Habib is also an active member of reputable professional bodies such as the Forensic Investigators’ Society of Nigeria (FISN) where he is a Fellow, and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) where he is an Associate Member (ANIPR). He has attended numerous specialized trainings including UN Peacekeeping Operations, Public Relations Workshops, Crime Scene Management, Forensic Investigation, Humanitarian Law Enforcement Standards, and Leadership Training Courses.

As he assumes duty, SP Nafiu Habib reiterates his commitment to strengthening the relationship between the police and the public through credible communication, effective information management, and community-oriented policing strategies. He assures residents of Bauchi State of his readiness to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, transparency, and responsiveness in line with global best practices.
