 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  Missing 15-Year-Old Girl Found Dead; Father Sought by Police in Hlanganani


 Police in Hlanganani have opened a murder case following the discovery of the lifeless body of a 15-year-old girl at Rotterdam Village.


 The deceased has been identified as Xilaveko Suke, who was previously reported missing together with her biological father, Peter Themba Baloyi.


 Xilaveko was reported missing on Monday, 22 December 2025, after she allegedly left home with her father, reportedly travelling to Giyani.


 A public appeal was issued to the community to assist in locating the missing pair.


 On Thursday, 25 December 2025, at about 08:50, police received a report of a body discovered at the father’s residence in Rotterdam Village. Upon arrival, the deceased’s paternal grandmother pointed out the body of a young girl inside a one-room house.


 Police confirmed that the body was that of the missing 15-year-old and noted visible injuries consistent with a stabbing.


 The whereabouts of the father remain unknown, and he is now being sought by police in connection with the murder.


 Later on the same day, at around 18:00, police were alerted that the father’s house had been set alight. Officers attended the scene, and investigations into the arson are underway.


 Police investigations into the murder and related incidents are continuing. Anyone with information that may assist police in tracing the missing father or help with the investigation is urged to contact the investigating officer, Captain Walter Marivate, on 082 468 8673.
