 NAF INTENSIFIES AIRPOWER CAMPAIGN, STRENGTHENS AIR PRESENCE IN SOKOTO TO DENY TERRORISTS FREEDOM OF ACTION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its airpower campaign against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West, with a strengthened air presence in Sokoto State to support ongoing joint security operations. The initiative reflects the Service’s determination to sustain pressure on hostile elements, enhance aerial surveillance and maintain the capacity for rapid response to emerging threats, while providing effective air support to ground forces operating within the Joint Operations Area. The strengthened air presence is particularly significant in the fight against asymmetric threats, where terrorists and bandits exploit difficult terrain, mobility and concealment to evade ground forces.  Missing 15-Year-Old Girl Found Dead; Father Sought by Police in Hlanganani


 Police in Hlanganani have opened a murder case following the discovery of the lifeless body of a 15-year-old girl at Rotterdam Village.


 The deceased has been identified as Xilaveko Suke, who was previously reported missing together with her biological father, Peter Themba Baloyi.


 Xilaveko was reported missing on Monday, 22 December 2025, after she allegedly left home with her father, reportedly travelling to Giyani.


 A public appeal was issued to the community to assist in locating the missing pair.


 On Thursday, 25 December 2025, at about 08:50, police received a report of a body discovered at the father’s residence in Rotterdam Village. Upon arrival, the deceased’s paternal grandmother pointed out the body of a young girl inside a one-room house.


 Police confirmed that the body was that of the missing 15-year-old and noted visible injuries consistent with a stabbing.


 The whereabouts of the father remain unknown, and he is now being sought by police in connection with the murder.


 Later on the same day, at around 18:00, police were alerted that the father’s house had been set alight. Officers attended the scene, and investigations into the arson are underway.


 Police investigations into the murder and related incidents are continuing. Anyone with information that may assist police in tracing the missing father or help with the investigation is urged to contact the investigating officer, Captain Walter Marivate, on 082 468 8673.
