 World Cup to feature mid-half hydration breaks The 2026 World Cup will feature hydration breaks in each half, effectively dividing matches into four quarters, FIFA announced. Referees will pause games 22 minutes into each half for three-minute water breaks, allowing players to rehydrate. Unlike last year’s Club World Cup in the United States, where breaks were limited to extreme heat, these hydration pauses will be mandatory for every match, regardless of venue or weather. The three minutes will be added to stoppage time, but the game clock will continue to run. The tournament, set to run from June 11 to July 14 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will be the first 48-team World Cup. FIFA also plans to hold three opening ceremonies before each host nation plays its first match. The tournament kicks off June 11 in Mexico City with Mexico facing South Africa. POLICE IS OUT TO ENFORCE  24 HOURS CURFEW BEEN DECLARED BY ADAMAWA STATE GOVERNMENT IN LAMURDE LGA.

Following a renewed communal clash in Lamurde LGA and the  declaration of 24-hour Curfew by the state government over the violent attacks and breach of peace within some communities in Lamurde local government area.


The Adamawa state police Command wishes to advice members of the public particularly those within Lamurde LGA, to respectfully comply with such order and stay indoors in order to prevent further break down of law and order.


The Commissioner of police CP Dankombo Morris,psc(+), has deployed more operational assets of the command to the areas, to monitor compliance and enforce the curfew using all legal means. 


The command in collaboration with sister security agencies while respecting the rights of the citizens equally enjoy them to avoid all forms of action capable of threatening the security in the area.


However, the Command will not in any where allow miscreants and misguided elements to operate unchallenged, despite security agents operates in such a way of not using force to create scenario that will lead to lost of live while enforcing the curfew.
