 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Undocumented Mozambican Shop Owner Arrested for Stolen Firearm


• A 30-year-old undocumented Mozambican spaza shop owner was arrested in Embalenhle on Wednesday, 03 December 2025.


• The arrest was carried out by the Secunda-based Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation unit, with support from the Secunda K9 Unit.


•Information received on 24 November 2025 indicated that the suspect, who operates a spaza shop at Embalenhle Gate 6, was in possession of a firearm.


• Hawks officers conducted surveillance and later obtained a search warrant.


• During the operation on 03 December, the search warrant was executed and a firearm, reported stolen in March 2021, was recovered with its serial number intact.


• Six live rounds of ammunition were also seized.


• The firearm will undergo ballistic testing to check if it is linked to other crimes.


• The suspect is expected to appear before the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 04 December 2025.
