 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Bandits Abduct Baptist Pastor, Family Members In Kaduna Community


Suspected bandits have reportedly abducted a Baptist Church pastor, Pastor Daniel Bagama, and his three daughters in Tudun/Bussah village, Kakau Ward of Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.


According to residents, the incident occurred late on Sunday night, January 18, 2026, at about 11:00 p.m., when the attackers stormed the village and forcefully took away the victims.


Eyewitnesses said the assailants arrived under the cover of darkness, creating fear and panic among residents before escaping with their captives to an unknown location.


As of the time of this report, security agencies are yet to issue an official statement, while efforts are ongoing to gather more details surrounding the abduction.


Kaduna State has continued to experience similar attacks in recent times, raising serious concerns over the safety of rural communities.
