 Algeria arrests 61 Moroccans over alleged sabotage plot Algerian authorities announced they have arrested 61 Moroccan nationals earlier this month on suspicion of planning "acts of sabotage". In a statement carried by public media on Sunday, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) referred to "an international Moroccan criminal network" but did not provide details of the alleged plots. The 61 people, including a former soldier in the Moroccan army, "were preparing to commit acts of sabotage undermining security and public order", the DGSN said, AFP reported. It added that the suspects had entered Algeria via mountain trails from neighbouring Tunisia. Diplomatic strains Relations between Algeria and Morocco have been strained for years, and their shared land border has been closed since 1994. In 2021, Algiers decided to sever diplomatic relations.  Director-General Of Governor Uba Sani’s Campaign Council Resigns From APC, Joins ADC


The Director-General of Governor Uba Sani’s Campaign Council during the 2023 Kaduna State governorship election, Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).


Bello, a former Commissioner of Education and former Commissioner of Communications in Kaduna State, announced his decision in a resignation letter dated January 7, 2026. 


The letter was addressed to the Chairman of the APC in Dogarawa Ward, Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.


In the letter, Bello formally notified the party of his immediate withdrawal from the APC, stating, “This is to let you know of my decision to withdraw my membership of the APC with immediate effect.”


He also expressed appreciation for his time in the party, noting, “I wish to place on record my appreciation for the mutually beneficial relationship that we have shared during my membership of the party.”


Bello concluded the letter with a courteous closing, assuring the party leadership of his best regards.
