 Set designer Mary Kate Golding found dead in Queens home as police investigate possible murder-suicide Police are investigating the deaths of television set designer Mary Kate Golding and her husband after the 34-year-old was found fatally stabbed inside her Queens home. According to the New York Police Department, officers responded shortly after midnight on Tuesday, July 21, to a residence in Astoria, where they found Golding with a fatal stab wound to her back. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Several hours later, at about 6:39 a.m., officers responded to a separate 911 call reporting an unconscious person near Astoria Park South and Shore Boulevard. Police found an unresponsive man in the park, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. An NYPD source identified the man as Joseph Azzaretto, Golding's husband.  BENUE POLICE REPELS ARMED ATTACK AT AWANSE, RESCUES ABDUCTED WOMAN 


The Benue State Police Command has repelled an attack by suspected armed herdsmen at Awanse community in Kwande Local Government Area and rescued an abducted woman.


Police Public Relations Officer of the Command DSP EDET UDEME stated that the suspected armed herdsmen invaded Awanse Community firing sporadically, but police teams swiftly engaged the assailants and forced them to flee the area.


The abducted woman was rescued unhurt and no life was lost during the incident at Awanse as peace has been restored in the area.

Meanwhile, the Command has provided an update on the incident at Abende community, which occurred few days ago . 


The statement says during sustained search and combing operations in the area, five (5) additional dead bodies were recovered, bringing the total number of fatalities in Abende community to ten (10).


The general security situation in the affected areas is presently calm, as intensive patrols, surveillance, and monitoring continue.


The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police Command, Ifeanyi Emenari,  assures the good people of the state of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property and reiterates that all necessary operational measures are being sustained to prevent further attacks and bring perpetrators to justice.
