 Anambra Government Dissolves Nkwo Umueze Market Leadership Over Defiance of Monday Trading Directive By Ebele Iyke Odili/Amaka Isikala  The Anambra State Government has dissolved the caretaker committee of Nkwo Umueze Market for failing to comply with the state’s directive mandating full commercial activities on Mondays. The dissolved committee, led by Mr. Onyeka Ekemezie, has been relieved of its duties with immediate effect.  The former chairman and members of the committee have consequently ceased to function as the recognized leadership of the market. The decision follows a clear policy position of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo that no market in the state should remain closed on Mondays under any guise.  The Governor had earlier warned that any market leadership found enforcing or encouraging continued closure would be dissolved in the interest of economic stability and public order.  Chikun/Kajuru Reps Member, Hon. Fidelix Joseph Bagudu Secures Federal Appointments For Constituents


The Member representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Fidelix Joseph Bagudu, has facilitated federal government appointments for two constituents as part of ongoing efforts to expand employment opportunities within the constituency.


The beneficiaries, Abubakar Sani from Kajuru Local Government Area and Gladys Nuhu from Chikun Local Government Area, have been appointed as Staff Nurses at Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina and Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital respectively.


According to a statement made available to KADUNA POLITICAL AFFAIRS by the Media and Publicity Directorate of the lawmaker’s office on February 26, 2026, the appointments reflect Hon. Bagudu’s continued commitment to empowering constituents through access to federal opportunities.


The lawmaker assured residents of Chikun and Kajuru that additional appointments and developmental projects are underway, reaffirming his pledge to effective representation and grassroots development.


The statement concluded with the campaign slogans “Let’s Fix It Together” and “Mu Gyara Tare,” underscoring a call for collective progress within the constituency.
