 OPERATION ENDURING PEACE INTENSIFIES SECURITY MEASURES TO CURB ESCALATION OF TENSIONS WITHIN JOS METROPOLIS In a proactive move to prevent further escalation of the ongoing crisis in Jos North, troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, initiated a comprehensive stop-and-search exercise across the Jos metropolis on Friday. This strategic intervention is part of a broader mandate to restore absolute normalcy and ensure the safety of lives and property within the State. ​The heightened security presence yielded immediate results as troops successfully intercepted and arrested 2 suspects as well as recovered one fabricated AK-47 rifle along with four rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and one pump action with a cutlass. It’s fake news, Adelabu denies resignation rumours 

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has denied reports suggesting he has resigned from office, describing the claims as false and misleading amid growing political speculation over his future.

The rebuttal comes at a time of heightened uncertainty following a Federal Government directive requiring political appointees with ambitions for the 2027 general elections to step down from their positions.

Responding in a WhatsApp chat with journalists on Tuesday, Adelabu’s Special Assistant on Media, Bolaji Tunji, dismissed the reports as fake news, insisting that the minister remains fully committed to his responsibilities in the power sector.

“The news of the minister’s resignation is fake. There is no truth to it”, Tunji said.

The media aide also shared photos of the purported resignation letter stamped “fake news.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
