 NAF INTENSIFIES AIRPOWER CAMPAIGN, STRENGTHENS AIR PRESENCE IN SOKOTO TO DENY TERRORISTS FREEDOM OF ACTION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its airpower campaign against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West, with a strengthened air presence in Sokoto State to support ongoing joint security operations. The initiative reflects the Service’s determination to sustain pressure on hostile elements, enhance aerial surveillance and maintain the capacity for rapid response to emerging threats, while providing effective air support to ground forces operating within the Joint Operations Area. The strengthened air presence is particularly significant in the fight against asymmetric threats, where terrorists and bandits exploit difficult terrain, mobility and concealment to evade ground forces. NASS Approves 68.3 Trillion Naira 2026 National Budget Bill

‎The National Assembly has passed the 2026 Appropriation Bill totaling Sixty Eight point Three Trillion Naira. 

‎The increase in the 2026 budget size with an additional 9 trillion naira followed President Tinubu's request to the Senate and  House of Representatives which was expeditiously approved by both chambers. 

‎The budget increase is to enable alignment with financing plans and to preserve macro economic stability. 

‎The Senate and House of Representatives also approved two seperate loan requests from the President.

‎The first is for a  five billion US dollars loan from the First Abu Dhabi Bank of the United Arab Emirates to establish an external financing programme.

‎The other request was for the sourcing  of 1.9 billion US Dollars from Citi Bank of London to enable the upgrade of the Apapa and Tin Can Island Ports in Lagos.
