The Los Angeles Police Department has identified the suspect arrested in connection with the shooting outside Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home as 35‑year‑old Ivanna Ortiz.
She has been charged with attempted murder, and her bail was set at $10.225 million due to the severity of the incident and the number of people present at the time.
Investigators say Ortiz allegedly drove from Florida, parked outside the property, and fired seven rounds before fleeing. Her vehicle was later found in Sherman Oaks, and police recovered the weapon used.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though bullet holes were visible in the home’s gate.
Authorities are now examining Ortiz’s social media activity, where she had posted unsettling messages referencing Rihanna, including claims of witchcraft and threats.
Court records reveal Ortiz has a prior arrest for domestic violence in 2023 and previously attempted to block a Billie Eilish concert in Florida.
The LAPD has confirmed that seven assault rifle casings were collected at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing as they work to establish a motive.
Rihanna, 38, who rose to fame with hits like Pon de Replay and Umbrella, has since built a global business empire under her Fenty brand, spanning cosmetics, fashion, and lingerie.
She has been in a relationship with rapper ASAP Rocky since 2020, and the couple shares three children.
While police have not confirmed whether Rihanna or her family were home during the shooting, the incident has heightened concerns about celebrity safety and the risks posed by individuals with troubling histories.
