One thing I’ve noticed since I came to Nigeria… some of the people we call “rich” in Cameroon might actually be considered poor here in Nigeria. 😂🇨🇲🇳🇬 You will hear some Cameroonians say: Life in Cameroon is better because the gap between the rich and poor is not too much. An average man lives better than an average man in Nigeria  But I think the problem is that we sometimes measure wealth differently. 😂 Those rich people in Cameroon are more like the average man in Nigeria  In Nigeria, you can see somebody with a house, two cars and serious money, yet the person will still say: Me? I’m just managing. 😭😂 Meanwhile, that same person might be considered very rich in Cameroon. I’ve actually met guys in Nigeria who consider themselves average or even poor, and I’m looking at them like: Oga, if you enter Cameroon with this your ‘poor’ lifestyle, they will give you a title! 😂😂 Some people we call rich back home would probably be considered ordinary here.   Ugandan Officer Jailed for 6 Months for Breach of Promise to Marry After Failing to Refund Her Fiancé

Fortunate Kyarikunda, a law enforcement officer with Rubanda Town Council, has been committed to Rukungiri Government Prison (civil wing) for up to six months.

The order was issued by Grade One Magistrate Dinah (Diana) Nekesa after she failed to pay Shs 14,099,100 owed to Richard Tumwine.

The debt follows a 2023 Kanungu Magistrate’s Court judgment for breach of promise to marry.

Tumwine had sponsored her education, including a diploma at the Law Development Centre, spending about Shs 9.4 million.

The court ordered a refund plus Shs 1 million damages, with the total rising to Shs 14,099,100 after costs.

She was arrested while on duty and jailed for non-payment.

Because this is civil enforcement of a debt, not a criminal conviction, she will be released once the full amount is paid or after serving the 6-month term.
