The defence ministry said the terrorists were killed in "a large-scale operation in areas of Lower Jubba and Middle Jubba," adding that weapons and landmines had also been seized. It said those killed included key members of the terrorist group. An African Union peacekeeping mission has also been trying to aid the Somali government's efforts to combat Al Shabab.

CHUCKY RETURNING TO THEATERS AS DON MANCINI DEVELOPS NEW CHILD’S PLAY FILM WITH LOOSE TIES TO TV SERIES. (PHOTO).

Chucky returning to theaters as Don Mancini develops new Child’s Play film with loose ties to TV series

Chucky is set to return to the big screen as franchise creator Don Mancini develops a new “Child’s Play” film following three seasons of the TV series.

Mancini revealed at Steel City Con that he is currently writing the next installment in the long-running horror franchise, which will have a “loose connection” to the television series. The show’s recent storyline concluded with Chucky and Tiffany returning to doll form and departing with Caroline, while the main group of characters had their souls transferred into marionette dolls.

The upcoming film is expected to act as a partial reset of the franchise’s continuity, similar in approach to 2013’s “Curse of Chucky.” Mancini reportedly intends to recapture the darker tone of that film along with the original “Child’s Play” and “Child’s Play 2.”

Unlike several recent entries in the series that went direct to home release, the new movie is planned for a theatrical release. If it moves forward as expected, it would mark the franchise’s first proper return to theaters since 2004’s “Seed of Chucky,” excluding the 2019 reboot.

Further details on the project, informally referred to as the next “Child’s Play” installment, have not yet been released.
