Senator Sunday Karimi has raised concerns over the growing incidence of kidnapping and banditry in Kogi State, describing abductions as a daily occurrence in the state. Karimi made the remarks on Wednesday during plenary while contributing to a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari on the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso. The lawmaker said kidnapping and banditry have become major security challenges threatening the stability of the country, stressing that responsibility for addressing the menace should not rest solely on the Federal Government. According to him, bandits invaded Ayedun Bunu, a community in Kogi West Senatorial District, in the early hours of Monday and abducted 28 residents. FORMER MICHIGAN COACH SHERRONE MOORE ACCUSED OF RELATIONSHIP WITH SUBORDINATE WHO SAYS HE IMPREGNATED HER DURING AFFAIR.(PHOTO).

Former Michigan coach Sherrone Moore accused of relationship with subordinate who says he impregnated her during affair

A former University of Michigan football coach is facing renewed scrutiny after a former subordinate publicly described a years-long relationship that she says began while she was an intern and he was a married offensive coordinator, and later continued after he became head coach.

Paige Shiver, 32, spoke publicly for the first time about the allegations in a televised interview, saying she began a relationship with Sherrone Moore in 2022 while working within the football program. She later became his executive assistant after his promotion to head coach in 2024 following a coaching change within the program.

Shiver said she initially believed the relationship was genuine, but now views it differently. She also alleged that Moore exerted influence over her career, saying his position gave him significant control over her employment and future opportunities within the program.

According to Shiver, attempts to end the relationship were met with pressure to remain involved. She described feeling unable to fully disengage due to concerns about her job security and Moore’s position of authority.

She also alleged that at one point she became pregnant during the relationship. The situation was further complicated, she said, by a medical diagnosis of Pompe disease, a rare and progressive muscle disorder. Shiver said she ultimately ended the pregnancy after consulting with medical professionals.

Shiver said she informed Moore of the pregnancy and that he responded by telling her she should make the decision based on her health.

She said she left the university and decided to speak publicly in part to warn others about similar situations, alleging that the relationship was widely known within the athletic department but not addressed.

Her attorney described the situation as widely understood within the program and accused the university of failing to properly enforce workplace policies or protect employees in subordinate positions.

The university said it took action once it became aware of an undisclosed relationship involving a direct reporting line, stating that Moore was terminated for violating workplace policies. Officials emphasized expectations for professional conduct within the athletic department.

Moore was later charged in connection with a post-termination confrontation at Shiver’s residence, to which he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor offenses and received probation.

Shiver said she feared for her safety during that incident and believes stronger penalties were warranted.
