Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. GENEVA MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER MISSING MAN FOUND DEAD IN MOTEL ROOM, DEPUTIES SAY. (PHOTO)

Geneva man charged with murder after missing man found dead in motel room, deputies say

A Geneva man has been charged with second-degree murder after a missing 37-year-old man was found dead inside a motel room, authorities said.

Police arrested 29-year-old Julius Ware IV on Sunday, with the charge announced Monday. Officials said Ware had been released on parole from state prison just 10 days before the arrest.

He is accused of intentionally killing Emmanuel Richelieu of Farmington. Richelieu was reported missing after his brother called 911 on Friday evening, saying he had not heard from him in two days.

Investigators tracked Richelieu’s cellphone to a motel on Hamilton Street in Geneva. Although the phone was located at the property, Richelieu was not with it.

Authorities said a search using a bloodhound led them to Room 118 inside the motel, where they ultimately discovered Richelieu’s body on Saturday. Deputies said the room had been rented by Ware.

Officials reported the victim suffered significant trauma.

Ware was later taken into custody without incident at a residence in Geneva. He was arraigned and ordered held without bail pending further proceedings.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and are asking anyone with information to contact law enforcement.

Court records show Ware previously served a prison sentence for second-degree robbery and was released earlier this month after completing that term.
