Justin Bieber returned to one of music’s biggest stages on Saturday, April 11, headlining the second day of the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, in what many fans are calling a defining moment in his return to live performance.
Midway through his set, Bieber made a personal dedication to his family while performing “Everything Hallelujah.” “Hailey, babe, hallelujah,” he sang, according to clips shared on social media, before adding, “Baby Jack, hallelujah.”
In the crowd, Hailey Bieber, 29, was seen reacting warmly to the moment, smiling, waving, and blowing a kiss back toward the stage. She attended the festival with friends, including Kylie Jenner, and was spotted wearing merchandise linked to her husband’s latest era.
Bieber’s set focused heavily on material from his 2025 projects Swag and Swag II, while also revisiting older crowd favourites such as “Baby” and “I’m the One.” Visuals from his earlier music videos played behind him as he performed.
The night also drew reactions from fellow stars in attendance. Katy Perry, who was there with Justin Trudeau, joked on social media, “Thank God he has Premium, I don’t wanna see no ads.”
This performance marked Bieber’s first full headlining set at Coachella, although he has appeared previously as a surprise guest alongside artists including Ariana Grande in 2019, Daniel Caesar in 2022, and Tems in 2024. He is scheduled to return to the main stage for the festival’s second weekend on April 18.
Behind the scenes, Bieber’s return to large-scale touring follows a period of health challenges and a long break from major live shows after cancelling his 2022 Justice Tour. He has previously spoken about living with Lyme disease and Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which affected facial movement in 2022.
Since releasing his recent albums, Bieber has been navigating a new phase in his career, with sources close to the singer saying he views this moment as a reset rather than a traditional comeback. According to those familiar with the situation, Hailey has played a supportive role in encouraging him to return to the stage.
“She’s always been in his corner, reminding him of what he means to fans,” one insider shared, noting that she encouraged him to take on the Coachella opportunity.
The performance also reflects changes in his professional setup, following his split from longtime manager Scooter Braun and a shift toward greater creative control.
