 ANAMBRA SECURITY: CP NNANNA URGES PRESIDENTS-GENERAL OF COMMUNITIES TO PRIORITISE SECURITY, STEP UP SUPPORT FOR FIGHT AGAINST CRIMINALITY The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, has called on Presidents-General of communities across the State to place the security and wellbeing of their respective communities at the forefront of their leadership responsibilities. The Commissioner made the call on 4th September 2026 while receiving the Association of Presidents-General of Communities in the State. He noted that the Presidents-General occupy strategic positions in their respective communities and therefore have a crucial role to play in supporting the Police and other security agencies in the fight against criminality.  Works Ministry, Police Forge Alliance on Highway Protection


The Federal Ministry of Works and the Nigeria Police Force have reinforced collaboration on the protection of federal road infrastructure nationwide, as the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji  Disu, paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Minister of Works, David Umahi, in Abuja 


The engagement, focused on improving security architecture around major highway construction corridors, including the Federal Government’s flagship legacy projects under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu


 Minister of Works, David Umahi, commended the police and other security agencies for their continued support in safeguarding critical national assets  despite prevailing security challenges in some parts of the country,

 

He described the administration’s flagship highway projects as long-term investment corridors designed to stimulate economic growth, enhance logistics, and strengthen national integration


The Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, described the visit as timely and strategic, noting that road infrastructure remains central to the administration’s economic transformation agenda.


The Inspector-General of Police , Olatunji Disu said the visit is to strengthen possible areas of collaboration, and to improve safety on the nation highways.
