Mohbad's DNA case adjourned to November 16 as family raises concerns over testing process The court hearing on the DNA case involving late singer Mohbad has been adjourned to November 16, 2026, as a family seeking to join the suit raises concerns about the testing process. In an update on the case, a representative of the party seeking to join the proceedings said a new court-appointed officer had been assigned to address their concerns about the proposed DNA test. The representative expressed reservations about the centre expected to handle the process, particularly the role of its director, who he said had also been involved in an earlier DNA-related request. He questioned whether the centre would conduct the test or merely collect samples before sending them to another laboratory. He said they wanted clarity on where the samples would be taken, how they would be collected and handled, and how long it would take to transfer them to the testing facility.  How Bandits Killed My Fiancé In Kaduna — Miss UNIJOS

Miss University of Jos (UNIJOS) Queen, Promise Dikko, has shared the heartbreaking story of how her fiancé, Ifeanyi, a lieutenant in the Nigerian Army, was killed by bandits just months before their planned wedding.

Speaking in an interview on Thursday, Ms Dikko said she last spoke with her fiancé on Monday afternoon before suddenly losing contact with him. Initially, she assumed there was a network issue or a problem with his phone.

According to her, concern grew the following day when repeated attempts to reach him proved unsuccessful. She contacted his relatives, friends, and coursemates in search of information.

“I spoke with him on Monday until the afternoon, then his number stopped connecting. I thought it was a network problem or that his phone had developed a fault. By Tuesday morning, I became worried and started reaching out to people close to him,” she said.

Ms Dikko later learned from his brother that the officer had been killed on Monday evening during an operation in Rigasa, Kaduna State.

She explained that her fiancé and his colleagues were intercepted by bandits during the operation, stressing that he was not kidnapped but killed in the line of duty.

The tragic incident occurred just months before the couple's wedding, which had been scheduled for December 27, 2026. Ms Dikko said significant preparations had already been made, including payments for various arrangements.

Despite the pain of her loss, she described her late fiancé as a courageous patriot who dedicated his life to serving the country.

“He gave his life while trying to save others. He was a fighter and someone who truly had Nigeria at heart. I am proud of him,” she said.

While mourning the loss of the man she had hoped to spend her life with, Ms Dikko said she would always remember him as her hero.

Earlier, she announced his death in an emotional Facebook post, revealing that a photo they had taken together was originally meant to be shared closer to their wedding date.
